Each bottle of pH-Basic contains pH test strips to help determine the effectiveness of pH Basic. Enzymedica pH-Basic contains a synergistic blend of minerals, enzymes, super-foods and herbs. Suggested Use: For maintenance, take 1 capsules before bed with at least 6 oz. of water. For therapeutic effect: take 1 in the morning, 1 in the afternoon, and 2 before bed. Always take 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal.

As a result of acid forming foods, high fat, mucous forming foods, and toxic food residues, the body becomes too acidic. The human body should be slightly alkaline in order to build an alkaline reserve for acid-forming conditions such as stress, lack of exercise, or poor dietary habits.

What is pH
The term pH stands for potential of Hydrogen. It is the amount of hydrogen ions in a particular solution. The more ions, the more acid the solution. The fewer ions the more alkaline (base) the solution.

pH is measured on a scale of 0 to 14 with seven being neutral. The lower the pH number the more acidic it is and the higher the number the more alkaline. For example, a pH of 3 is more acidic than a pH of 5 and a pH of 9 is more alkaline than a pH of 6.

As humans, a normal pH of all tissues and fluids of the body (except the stomach) is slightly alkaline. The most critical pH is in the blood. All other organs and fluids will fluctuate in their range in order to keep the blood a strict pH between 7.35 and 7.45 (slightly alkaline). T his process is called homeostasis. The body makes constant adjustments in tissue and fluid pH to maintain this very narrow pH range in the blood.

To be too acidic in the body can have far reaching consequences. For example, if the blood becomes too acidic the body will balance pH at all costs. This can lead to common symptoms which include but are not limited to heart burn, acid reflux, indigestion, weight gain, difficulty losing weight, poor metabolism, mineral deficiencies, constipation, fatigue, brain fog, frequent urination, hormonal imbalances, sore muscles and the list goes on.
